Long-Term Substitute Teacher - Grade 3
The Moravia Central School District is accepting applications for a Grade 3 Long-Term Substitute Teacher through the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
Qualifications:
New York State Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) certification preferred.

Bus Drivers
There is an anticipated vacancy for a school bus driver. The starting wage is the minimum hiring rate listed in the CSEA Contract ($20.75/hr).
A school bus driver must be at least 21 years of age, hold current valid CDL New York State Driver’s License, and pass the annual school bus driver physical exam administered pursuant to the regulations established by the Commissioner.
Open Run:
1) (4.25 hours/day) ROUTE # 1
- 6:00 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
- 2:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.

School Bus Attendant
The Moravia Central School District is seeking to fill a vacancy for school bus attendant for 2 hours/day. The starting wage is the minimum hiring rate indicated in the CSEA contract, $15.50 per hour.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Rides on a school bus for the purpose of assisting the driver in maintaining order and for supervising the loading and unloading of the buses at the various stopping points; does related work as required. This is routine work of ordinary difficulty involving responsibility for overseeing the loading and unloading of student passengers and for administering to their needs, comfort, and conduct while in transit on regularly scheduled bus trips to and from school. Supervision is exercised over the conduct of student passengers as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative Only) Rides on a school bus for the purpose of assisting pupils to climb aboard and alight from bus; Seats and places student passengers as required; May operate a lift to load and unload handicapped student passengers and secures restraint devices and wheelchair locks; Maintains order on bus and makes certain that student passengers are seated while bus is in motion; Assists students and driver as needed.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES, PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good general intelligence; Familiarity with the various bus routes in the district and their stopping places for students; Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; Ability to get along well with students and command their respect; Some knowledge of first aid methods; Dependability; Good physical condition. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (A) None is required, but ability to get along well with children and to maintain discipline are desirable.

Personnel Clerk
The Moravia Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Personnel Clerk to begin on or around April 14th, 2025. This is a 12-month provisional civil service position. This means the candidate will be required to take the civil service exam when it is next scheduled in the future and be reachable for the position. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for district clerical work that requires organization and attention to detail in maintaining accurate, current personnel and attendance records on each employee and possess strong computer skills with the ability to work independently in Microsoft Word and Excel, answering all incoming calls to the district, interacting with employees and onboarding new hires, act as the liaison for workers’ compensation, submitting data to retirement systems, assisting in the payroll processing and fringe benefits of employees, and other duties as assigned.
The candidate must have graduated from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two-year college with an associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, secretarial science or related field OR graduation from high school or possession of a NYS high school equivalency diploma AND two years of experience maintaining financial accounts and records, personnel records or other equivalent account clerical experience.

Senior Typist Vacancy
Moravia Central School District has a vacancy for Senior Typist.
This is a 12-month provisional civil service position. This means the candidate will be required to take the civil service exam when it is scheduled in the future and qualify for the position. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing clerical support to the counseling office by maintaining accurate, current student records with a strong focus on daily attendance duties as well as providing assistance to the daily operations of the high school office. The candidate must have graduated from high school or possess an equivalency diploma and graduated from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two-year college OR have two years of clerical experience which must have included keyboarding. Student Aide
Millard Fillmore Elementary School has an anticipated vacancy for a student aide position. The successful candidate will work with a student with special needs for 6.5 hours per day.
Duties include assisting the student while working with teachers and the building principal. Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills are important.
Starting wage is a minimum of $15.50 per hour.
