• Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at Moravia CSD

At Moravia, we are committed to ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. Our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a proactive, data-driven approach designed to provide the right level of support for each student through a tiered framework.

    What is MTSS?

MTSS is a structured, evidence-based system that helps identify and support students who may need additional assistance in academics, behavior, or social-emotional development. It ensures that all students have access to high-quality instruction while receiving the personalized support they need to thrive.

    How MTSS Works

MTSS is built on a three-tiered system that provides different levels of support based on student needs:

    • Tier 1: Universal Support (For All Students)

      • High-quality classroom instruction
      • Positive behavior expectations and school-wide interventions
      • Social-emotional learning (SEL) programs
      • Ongoing assessments to monitor progress
    • Tier 2: Targeted Support (For Some Students)

      • Small group instruction or intervention for students needing extra help in academics or behavior
      • Check-ins with school counselors or behavior specialists
      • Social skills groups to support peer interactions
    • Tier 3: Intensive Support (For a Few Students)

      • Individualized academic or behavioral support plans
      • One-on-one mentoring, counseling, or intervention services
      • Collaboration with specialized professionals, such as school psychologists or interventionists

    Why MTSS Matters

MTSS helps us create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child can succeed. By using a proactive and data-driven approach, we ensure that students receive the help they need before challenges become barriers to their education.

    How Can Parents Get Involved?

Parents are essential partners in the MTSS process! You can:

    • Stay informed about your child’s progress through regular communication with teachers.
    • Support learning at home by reinforcing positive study habits and behavior.
    • Reach out to school staff if you have concerns about your child’s academic or social development.
