Career Exploration and Life Skills
The Counseling Office is a great place to jump start your exploration of careers that match your interests and skills. We regularly have job postings for local part-time jobs as well as information on local and national apprenticeships. Start building your skills with a local job or volunteer opportunity or enroll in a BOCES Career & Technical Program. All our school clubs and sports teams are also great places to learn leadership and interpersonal skills along with having fun!

Americorps
AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, team-based, residential program for 18-24-year-olds. Whether clearing trails for a national park or building home for families in need, AmeriCorps NCCC members engage in a variety of projects in multiple communities while developing leadership and teamwork skills. AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps serves communities, in coordination with FEMA, through disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.

Apprenticeships

BOCES CTE Programs
The Career & Technical Education (CTE) program at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES provides students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future careers. Students enroll junior & senior years of high school for the 1/2 day program in their area of interest. Subject areas include: Criminal Justice, Culinary, Construction, Auto Tech, Cosmetology, Graphic Design and more. -
Job Corps
Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.
